Set near the North base of Camelback Mountain, this home reaches out to capture views and light.  A simple butterfly roof floats over the home and organizes the circulation of the interior spaces.  The angle of the roof was calculated to frame the top of the mountain beyond while still providing a sufficient angle for the hidden solar panels above.  Water from the roof is collected at each end of the home, when it rains these cantilevered elements create waterfall features.  The family are avid furniture and art lovers and have collected distinctive pieces for the home.
